Dr. Manuel Garcia joined Central Cardiovascular
Institute of San Antonio in 1995 as one of the
first physicians to form CCI. Dr. Garcia is both the
COO of Central Cardiovascular Institute as well as the Director of the Congestive Heart Failure
Program. With both his expert training and commitment for
the pursuit of excellence, Dr. Garcia serves as a crucial leader not
only within CCI but as well as in the local medical community.
Dr. Manuel Garcia developed a interest in the medical field early in
his life. In 1983, he graduated from St. Mary's University
in San Antonio, Texas with a B.S. in Biology. That same year he began
pursuing his medical degree at Texas Tech University School of Medicine
in Lubbock, Texas. He completed his residency and cardiology
fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center.
After completing his cardiology fellowship in 1994, Dr. Garcia
returned to care for the unique healthcare needs of San
Antonio.
Since returning to San Antonio he has held such prestigious positions
as the Chief of Medicine for Southwest General Hospital, Chief of
Cardiology for Southeast Baptist, Chief of Staff for Southwest General,
Board of Trustee's for Southwest General, Chairman of Cardiology
Audit-Policy Committee for Baptist Health System, Medical Director for
Heart Center of Central San Antonio, Chairman of Credentials Committee
for Baptist Health System and Chairman Cardiology of Clinical Services
for Metropolitan Methodist Hospital.
